International Woman`s day 8.3.07
The tradition of Women's social struggles continues
The international woman's day is marked every year around the world and in Israel on the same date in which textile women workers went on a strike in 1857in N.Y. City, protesting their working conditions in the sweat shops. They marched in the streets and were attacked by the police. The purpose of this day is to highlight women's struggles for equality.

Israeli and Palestinian women`s protest vigil in Qalandia checkpint, north of Jerusalem, 8.3.07, 10:00. Women`s democratic movement (Tandi) will march in Haifa, 10.3.07, 11:00 from Solel Bone square to Huri and back. Arab and Jewish women will walk with drums and bells under the slogan: "Real security is social justice, end of violence and end of government corruption, education and employment for all".
